Fall Session With The Price Family

Have I mentioned that I LOVE my job?
Because, man oh man...getting results like this sure makes me happy! :)

We were so lucky for this day - it was in the 50's (in NOVEMBER, folks!) and the sun was so warm!
Thank you Price family, for an awesome session!

G Squared

I can't even believe how lucky we've been with weather this Fall! All the way into November we've had sunny mild days and the leaves even hung on extra long this year! A photographers delight! :)

I met these two awesome kids (and their super cute dog, Apollo) for some outdoor shoots at Huron Meadows Metropark in Brighton - one of the many places that I like to shoot & I do not charge a travel fee!
Good to know, right? *wink*

Thanks for the outdoor fun, guys! I hope you liked your gallery! :)

What's UP?

Hi y'all!

Now that the Michigan Fall weather is getting a bit cooler, the leaves are all on the ground, and the wind seems to be howling on a regular basis, outdoor photos are coming to a close for the year.  Booo!

I have some fun photos of my own little sweetheart that I took last weekend to post soon, just to prove that even though the weather isn't ideal, my camera is never idle. :)

I am totally open to a fun snow shoot or a "bundle up and smile" family photo if requested...but things are definitely slowing down.  And it's all good! I've got lots of fun ideas rolling through this head of mine and I'm already planning some fun mini-sessions for (possibly) Christmas and (definitely) for Spring.  I'm also working on setting up an indoor studio so that those of you who aren't so fond of the outdoor portraits can have a fun shoot indoors as well.  There is really something quite timeless about a good studio portrait, so even though it's more "posed" than I normally prefer, we can still make it a lot of fun!

So many fun ideas...so little time!  I'll keep you posted!

Many thanks & blessings to you!

The T Family

The thing about photographing kids is you never know what to expect...
some kids warm right up to you, while others take a bit of time.
This handsome guy didn't want to even look at me when he got here, let alone smile for me!
And who could blame him? Surely, not I!

Think about it; how would you feel about someone you just met posing you, asking you to smile and all the while clicking away with a giant black box in front of their face?  Yeah, I wouldn't like it either.  I get it. That's why we had some time to get to know each other before we started clicking away.  He got to know me...I got to be tricked into believing he played soccer (too funny!) and I learned that this super star just moved up to his yellow belt in Karate.  Way to go, dude!

Doesn't mom have the most amazing eyes? So beautiful!

My point here?  I want parents to know that I won't ever force your child to pose for a photo.  We will take as much time as we need to make them feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera.  If it means that I'm blowing raspberries with a stuffed animal on my head, then so be it.  I'm brushing up on my knock knock jokes, too...

My goal is to get the most natural expressions possible from your child for their photos. Who wants a stiff forced smile staring at them from the wall all year long?  Yeah, me either.

Oh, and my new friend K here? He gave me a hug before he left and even shared a gummy bear with me.
He ROCKS!
Thanks, T family - it was a true pleasure to meet you!

The M. Family

These two sisters were the most natural models I have ever seen!  The weather wasn't ideal for our shoot - windy and rather chilly - but these two put on their best smiles and we had so much fun!

Yay for mom joining these two! Beautiful x 3!

Don't you just love the hats? So fun & full of spunk!

Girls ROCK! Especially girls in pink and purple hats!

More Fall Session Fun

One thing I've learned going from a "couple" to a "family" is not to forget photos of JUST mom & dad.  We don't have many professional photos of my husband and myself during family sessions, but I sure treasure the few that we did take.  And at the time, I didn't even really want my photo taken any more than necessary!  I make it a point in all of my family sessions to get at least one shot of just the parents, even if they're not all that hip on the idea. :)

Now, on to the fun part...this awesome family that came to see me for one of my Fall Mini Sessions:

It was a pleasure to meet you all - thank you so much for coming to see me!

Sisters in Their FIRST Matching Outfits!

Just look at those gorgeous blue eyes - I smile every time I see them!

The smile on this cutie seriously lights up the room - she is so happy!

Big sister making it easy for me to take a beautiful photo!

Love this angle for photos - it eliminates any distractions and all you see is her beautiful face!

The pretty mama of these pretty girls joined in the photo fun too! Hi Kelly!

Have I mentioned how much I love my job? <3

The B. Family

Isn't this just the cutest little face?
And would you believe that this little guy did not fuss...not even once...the entire time that we were taking photos?  A&M, you are two lucky parents! :)

The hay was simply fascinating to little J - he was very intent on figuring out just exactly what it was.

I see this photo, and I think "Hey, don't even think about touching my pumpkin!" Ha ha!

Can't you just FEEL the love in this photo? J, you are a lucky boy!

Thank You A, M & little J for coming to see me!

Sofie, Sofie, Sofie...

I loved how she rocked the camera and wasn't shy with me AT ALL!
So much FUN!

Sarah

Looking pretty in pink, Miss Sarah! :)
We did these photos right in the middle of a HUGE sunset, without a cloud in the sky.  Amazing natural light that really popped the colors in these photos!

To know this sweet, silly girl is to love her - and this photo of her on the fence is one of my favorites of the session! It really captures her personality!

Oh sweet Sarah, the camera loves you!
